Chavivim Unveils KJ-501 at Annual Appreciation Event
Featured vehicle: KJ-501 — General Fly Car
Orange County Chavivim held its yearly appreciation celebration honoring the 90+ members who stand by the community in every time of need.
Honoring the Members Behind Every Call
The night was a chance to thank the volunteers who answer the radio at all hours — for roadside calls, lost-hiker searches, flooding response, and everything in between. Every member who showed up represents thousands of community calls answered through the year.
KJ-501 Joins the Fleet
The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of KJ-501 — Orange County Chavivim's General Fly Car, and one of the division's primary first-response vehicles.
KJ-501 is equipped with search-and-rescue tools, a communication system for special events, roadside assistance gear, and special operations equipment — purpose-built so members can roll up to a scene with everything they need on board.
Coverage That Never Stops
Even as members gathered to celebrate, the radios stayed on. Chavivim volunteers from neighboring divisions came in to Orange County and covered calls throughout the event — making sure that no community member who needed help was left waiting.
It's a small detail that says a lot: the mission doesn't pause, even on the night we say thank-you. That's what being on call 24/7 actually looks like.
